Poem of Hurt
2005-07-08 || 11:26 a.m.
Civil War Your tugging at the strings of insecurity Wrapping me in blankets of jealousy Sew the needle with the thread Patch this quilt with infidelity You’re the queen of deception Or I’ve deceived myself Believing half truths Or unwritten rules To be honored by your army As commander and chief you’ve replaced me for a social escapade I quarrel with the idea of fighting for honesty Because Honestly Held against your front lines for so long I’ve got empty clips to show you Your battle plans were negligent Though you’ve sacrificed to honor treaties Your sacrifices lost you the war And I’ve got the purple heart To forgive and forget So why start another war?
