Poem for forgiveness

Breathe Father bland Vitamin Breathe… can you feel the remorse filling your lungs Can you feel the pain cutting into your arteries Can you feel the disgust drooling the anger you couldn’t let go Today I’m resetting the index and I’m starting backwards This story we once called life seems to have ended And begun the same day we said yes to a message “Freedom rings in this place Showers of mercy and Grace” We are free from the lies that cause cancer to our souls So why are we living like the echo of our past Why are we denying whole truths for half lies Taking our weekly vitamin on upset stomachs Residing in sickness seems far-fetched from reality Like the bland rhythm of our lives that seems to have skipped over And over And over Leaves me wondering how the song of our lives will end If were repeating the crimes we’ve committed Then are we committed Are we? Who’s to tell us what reality is Our father who art in heaven Hallowed be thy name Why do I hear with deaf ears the truth you have brought us too Why do we listen as mutes to your doctrines Why do we forsake your kingdom your name your love Why do we put you last and others first If your all that matters. Forgive me for my cancerous soul Forgive me for the wreck I’ve made of myself I’ve fallen in your presence and broken my legs to stand on Carry me
